Syllabus

Week One: Greener Energy and Climate Action. You will learn how to assess the impact of climate change on your particular business. You will identify exactly where you lose your hard-earned money on high-priced fuels. You will consider various low-cost alternatives in Kenya; such as solar home systems, clean cookstoves, electric bodas, biogas, and water conservation. By week one end, you will have your personal energy action plan.
Week Two: Financial Literacy and Creditworthiness. You will learn how to do simple accounting through the use of cashbooks and M-pesa. You will get a clear understanding of how loans work with the use of principal, interest (between 8% and 11% per annum), and payment methods. You will be taught how to prepare a loan utilization plan to earn from borrowed funds. At the end of week two, you will have developed your financial record sheet and creditworthiness.
